Job description
The focus of the role is to maximize the quality and safety of clinical care delivered across the group by leading clinical governance, developing standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Critical Outputs
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical and nursing standards.
- Maintain compliance with Department of Health, Office of Health Standards Compliance and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accreditation readiness and oversee continuous compliance activities.
- Oversee clinical audits, infection prevention and control protocols, and documentation standards.
- Identify, design and implement training programmes to support patient safety and quality care.
- Coordinate clinical governance structures and quality assurance activities across the group.
- Investigate reportable clinical incidents and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support clinical advisory committees and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Develop monitoring frameworks and produce clinical performance reports.
- Analyse clinical data to identify trends and drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide clinical leadership across hospitals, primary care and centralized services.
- Collaborate with internal and external healthcare stakeholders to strengthen clinical performance and patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with valid registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Minimum of 4 years clinical leadership experience.
- Proven management experience at regional or hospital level.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and quality improvement practices.
- Strong leadership ability with effective stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound knowledge of legal and ethical healthcare requirements.
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
- Willingness to travel and work in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment.
