Clinical Quality & Governance Facilitator

The focus of the role is to support the implementation of clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across Intercare care settings by translating clinical standards into practical implementation through audits, reporting, training, incident management and stakeholder collaboration.

Critical Outputs

• Support the implementation of evidence-based clinical and governance standards across Intercare care settings.
• Monitor compliance with Department of Health (DOH), Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) and South African Nursing Council (SANC) requirements.
• Coordinate accreditation readiness activities and maintain clinical governance documentation.
• Conduct and coordinate clinical audits and monitor corrective and compliance action plans.
• Identify quality improvement opportunities and support standardisation across facilities.
• Support the investigation and management of reportable clinical incidents and track mitigation actions.
• Monitor clinical risk trends and support the implementation of preventative measures and patient safety initiatives.
• Compile monthly clinical reports and analyse quality and patient safety trends.
• Maintain governance dashboards and monitor key clinical performance indicators.
• Deliver clinical governance and compliance training and support onboarding programmes.
• Identify training needs and promote best-practice implementation and continuous learning.
• Build effective working relationships with Operations Managers, Facility Managers, Nursing Managers and clinical teams.
• Collaborate with clinical committees and engage with regulatory stakeholders when required.
• Provide meaningful clinical insights to support decision-making and foster a culture of quality and accountability.
• Develop specialist capability in clinical governance and quality through structured mentorship and exposure across Intercare's care settings.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with valid, current SANC registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ post-registration clinical experience in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety.
• Exposure to clinical audits, incident reporting, infection prevention and control or accreditation will be advantageous.
• Working knowledge of SANC, DOH and OHSC requirements.
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Intermediate Excel and Office 365 proficiency; Power BI or clinical information systems experience will be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across Intercare care settings.
