Cloud Infrastructure Lead

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Cloud Infrastructure Lead, must be highly skilled and have the ability to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions that support our large-scale retail operations. Will need to architect resilient and scalable cloud environments, automate deployments, enhance performance, and ensure secure and efficient cloud operations across our enterprise. Will play a key leadership role within the Cloud Engineering team, collaborating with cross-functional technology, security, and product groups to deliver high-performing services to customers, stores, and distribution centers.

Requirements

Cloud certifications such as:

• Azure Solutions Architect / Azure DevOps Expert
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
• Background in microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven

Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure for enterprise retail operations.

Automation & DevOps

• Develop CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and infrastructure
• Ensure cloud environments support high-volume retail workloads and seasonal peak performance.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Apply cloud security best practices, monitoring, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.

Monitoring & Reliability

• Lead troubleshooting and incident response for critical cloud-related
• Optimize cost, performance, and reliability across cloud

Collaboration & Leadership

• Requires close collaboration with other Business units to deliver effective cloud strategies and deployments.
• Work closely with DevOps, Network, Security, Data, and Application teams to support end-to-end solutions.

Competencies

• 6+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure
• Expert-level knowledge of one or more major cloud
• Experience with CI/CD
• Solid understanding of containerization and
• Strong knowledge of networking, load balancing, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud-native networking.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging
• Experience working in large enterprise environments (retail experience advantageous).

• Cloud Platform Reliability & Availability
• Contribution to culture, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
• KPI: Maintain 99.9% – 99% uptime across critical cloud workloads. Infrastructure Delivery Speed (Automation & IaC)
• CI/CD Pipeline Efficiency. Measured by: Pipeline logs, deployment metrics. Why it matters: Retail apps need rapid updates without breaking
• Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps). Measured by: Cloud cost reports, FinOps Why it matters: Retail cloud consumption is high—cost predictability is key.
• Security & Compliance Posture

Ways of working (Agile & squad-based)

• Lead a cross-functional Cloud platforms squad using Agile delivery principles
• Operate with clear platform ownership and accountability
• Promote reuse, standardization, and continuous improvement
