Lesaka Merchant is looking for a Co-ordinator: Leasing and Real Estate Management to join our Merchant Operations Division. This role is ideal for someone who can drive leasing and real estate management initiatives that support business growth, employee experience, operational resilience, and the evolving needs of a fast-paced fintech environment.

Job purpose

To spearhead leasing and real estate management of Operational Facilities through strategic lease acquisition and management, promoting workspaces that meet fintech requirements, support rapid growth and business continuity, enable operational efficiency, and deliver an exceptional experience for both employees and customers.

Key Responsibility Areas

Leasing and Real Estate Strategy Implemented

• Implement leasing and real estate initiatives aligned to the Operational Facilities Management strategy, ensuring support for digital innovation, customer experience, and business growth.
• Evaluate existing facilities and conduct ongoing cost-benefit analysis to identify efficient and scalable real estate solutions.
• Support workplace planning, layouts, disaster recovery requirements, and operational resilience.
• Develop facilities solutions that accommodate expansion, contraction, hybrid working, and shared workspaces.
• Embed the Merchant Division culture and brand identity into leased premises to create a consistent employee and customer experience.

Secured Operational Facilities and Leases

• Manage lease acquisition processes and negotiate flexible lease structures that support business agility.
• Conduct facilities audits and develop operational facilities plans aligned to business and growth requirements.
• Ensure facilities accommodate the needs of all business functions and support operational effectiveness.
• Benchmark facilities, leases, and rental agreements against market trends to ensure competitiveness and value for money.
• Support the development of business cases relating to operational facilities and leasing decisions.

Executed Leases and Real Estate Administration

• Ensure facilities support the operational, security, technology, and infrastructure requirements of a modern fintech environment.
• Negotiate lease conditions that support technology readiness, high-speed connectivity, uninterrupted operations, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Ensure facilities comply with sustainability and environmental requirements.
• Monitor space utilisation and occupancy trends to optimise workspace planning and efficiency.
• Administer leases and contractual obligations and proactively resolve lease-related issues.

Compliance and SLA Performance

• Ensure leased facilities support customer experience objectives and operational service requirements.
• Monitor facilities utilisation against contractual obligations, budgets, and service level requirements.
• Support compliance with physical security, risk management, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure facilities comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and other applicable legislation.
• Identify and proactively mitigate facilities-related risks.

Stakeholder Management and Alignment

• Collaborate with Procurement, Technology, Operations, Customer Experience, and other business functions to understand facility requirements.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure facilities provide the appropriate balance between collaboration, productivity, and employee wellbeing.
• Participate in supplier and lease negotiations to optimise value and mitigate risk.
• Gather and act on stakeholder feedback regarding facilities and workspace effectiveness.
• Drive effective communication and alignment throughout leasing and facilities projects.

People Leadership, Capability and Performance

• Support workforce planning and capability development requirements.
• Drive a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback where required.
• Support succession planning, employee engagement, and talent retention initiatives.
• Champion the Lesaka values and continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

Matric is Mandatory.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Operational Facilities Management, Leasing, Real Estate Management, or Corporate Facilities environments.
• Proven experience managing leases and commercial real estate portfolios within banking, fintech, financial services, multi-site, or high-growth environments.
• Strong understanding of workplace strategy, lease negotiations, facilities planning, and space utilisation.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with stakeholders at all organisational levels, including senior executives.
• Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification is advantageous.
