Job description
Duroplastic Head Office in Brackenfell Cape Town is looking for an experienced and dedicated Code 10 (Code C1) Driver. The Code 10 Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely collection and delivery of raw materials, finished goods, and other company-related items in support of operations. The incumbent will ensure that all deliveries and collections are completed accurately, professionally, and in compliance with road safety legislation, company procedures, and customer requirements. In addition to driving duties, the role includes assisting with loading and offloading, basic warehouse support, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation and system records.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Deliveries
- Safely operate a Code 10 (Code C1) company vehicle for deliveries and collections.
- Deliver raw materials, finished products, and other goods to customers, suppliers, and company sites.
- Collect stock, raw materials, equipment, and documentation from suppliers as required.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed accurately and on time.
Vehicle Management
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure the vehicle remains clean, roadworthy, and compliant with all legal requirements.
- Report defects, accidents, or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Monitor fuel usage and vehicle service intervals.
Loading & Offloading
- Assist with the loading and offloading of goods.
- Secure loads correctly to prevent damage during transportation.
- Handle products carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
- Assist with moving resin drums, kegs, and other heavy materials where required.
- Maintain safe manual handling practices at all times.
Documentation & Administration
- Obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery.
- Return all completed documentation promptly.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is accurate and complete.
Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and suppliers.
- Communicate delivery delays or issues promptly.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
Warehouse Support
- Assist the warehouse team during quieter delivery periods.
- Assist with stock movements and general warehouse duties.
- Support stock counts when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all road traffic legislation.
- Adhere to company Health & Safety policies.
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials where applicable.
- Wear the required PPE at all times.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Mathematics Literacy (minimum).
- Standard Mathematics (preferred).
Licences
- Valid Code C1 (Code 10) Driver's Licence – Essential.
- Valid Forklift Operator Licence – Advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a delivery and collection driving role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment will be advantageous.
- Experience handling delivery documentation and customer interactions.
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of road traffic legislation.
- Knowledge of delivery and collection procedures.
- Basic understanding of warehouse and inventory processes.
Technical Competencies

- Good route planning and time management.
- Accurate completion of delivery documentation.
- Basic stock handling knowledge.

- Comfortable working in warehouse and outdoor environments.
