Job Description

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with strong Financial Management experience and extensive working knowledge of Syspro.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial and commercial functions of the business, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, procurement, inventory management, costing, debtors and operational financial controls.
This position requires an experienced finance professional who has previously worked as a Financial Manager within a manufacturing environment and understands the financial and operational complexities associated with manufacturing, stock, raw materials, product costing and production-related expenditure.Key Responsibilities

• Review balance sheet reconciliations and approve journals.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and ongoing financial outlooks.
• Monitor and report on operational and financial performance to management and Head Office.
• Analyse financial results and identify variances, risks and areas requiring corrective action.
• Manage the procurement of raw materials, consumables and maintenance equipment.
• Oversee stock control processes, including monthly stock takes and inventory reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve stock variances.
• Monitor transport and logistics costs.
• Monitor material usage, waste and manufacturing costs.
• Manage and review product costing.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within Syspro.
• Maintain and update product pricing and costing information within Syspro.
• Manage debtors, customer accounts and credit-control processes.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and ensure effective collection procedures are followed.
• Ensure appropriate financial and operational controls are maintained across the business.
• Support management with commercial analysis and business decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure financial information and reporting are accurate, complete and submitted within required deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Current or previous Financial Manager experience is essential.
• Proven experience working within the manufacturing industry is essential.
• Strong working knowledge and practical experience using Syspro is essential.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Experience with stock control, inventory reconciliation and product costing.
• Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience managing debtors and credit control.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing costs, raw materials and operational expenditure.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Candidate must already reside in Cape Town.

Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have progressed through senior finance roles within a manufacturing organisation and will have a strong combination of financial, commercial and operational experience. They should be comfortable working closely with finance, procurement, production, operations and senior management while using financial information to support business performance and commercial decision-making.
Salary: R90,000 CTC per month
