Job description
To assist in engagements related to new business, by supporting negotiations, developing commercial models, and executing business opportunities that contribute to the CDC’s objectives, especially financial viability, while accounting for financial, tax, technical, legal, and environmental considerations.
MANDATE
Support the Unit in negotiations with potential partners on behalf of the CDC.
DESCRIPTION
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Business Negotiations and Contracts
- Support the Unit in negotiations with potential partners on behalf of the CDC.
- Participate in the development of contract documents in consultation with CDC Legal Services.
Commercialisation and Business Modelling
- Develop business models that allow services, products, and partnerships on a commercial basis.
- Assess the viability of partnership/products and or services rendered.
- Participate in commercialisation of services /partnerships within and external to the SEZ.
Project Development and Execution
- Identify and implement new projects both inside and outside the SEZ.
- Execute projects from inception to implementation and/or operation.
- Develop project submissions for internal committees in line with CDC project development framework and policies.
Strategic Proposal Development
- Support the Unit to develop appropriate solutions and proposals for potential partners or projects.
Funding Sourcing and Applications
- Identify funding sources and options in collaboration with the Capital Funding Unit.
- Develop funding applications and models to support commercial opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Team Leadership
- Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams in delivering business opportunities.
- Maintain strong negotiation and relationship management capabilities.
COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (NQF 7) in Finance, Commerce, any related or equivalent.
Experience
- 7 years’ relevant work experience.
- Project management experience.
- Experience in commercialisation of enterprises/services.
- Experience in business analysis and business plan development.
- Experience creating/reviewing financial models for ventures.
- Experience in marketing diverse product lines.
Competencies
- Ability to turn ideas into viable business proposals
- Strong negotiation and management skills
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
Licences, Registrations & Certifications
- Project Management Certification; Valid Driver’s Licence.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Performance is monitored regularly at both an individual and a team level, in accordance with the CDC’s performance management system and control measures relevant to the position.
