Salary R420 000 - R480 000 per annum

Are you the kind of communicator who spots a typo from across the room, turns raw information into compelling stories, and knows how to make a brand's voice impossible to ignore?

Raizcorp is looking for a Communications Officer to join our Marketing team. This is not a "write a post and tick a box" role. We are looking for a sharp, creative, deadline-driven communicator who can write, edit, proof, interview, plan, coordinate, publish, analyse and keep multiple communication balls in the air without dropping the brand.

You will support the Marketing Manager and take responsibility for a wide range of internal and external communications, ensuring that Raizcorp and its allied companies speak with one clear, professional and powerful voice.

What you'll be doing

You will be the person who helps turn strategy into stories, ideas into campaigns, and business activity into high-quality content. Your work will include:

  • Writing and editing content such as thought leadership articles, video, podcast and event scripts, press releases, blog posts, newsletters, sales proposals (including brochures, manuals and more), marketing collateral, website copy and social media content.
  • Helping to develop and execute communication and social media strategies across different audiences and platforms.
  • Proofreading and quality-checking content to ensure that every piece of communication is accurate, polished and brand-aligned.
  • Managing and updating websites, portals and online content, including working with developers and suppliers when new digital platforms or website updates are required.
  • Finding newsworthy stories inside the business, interviewing entrepreneurs, gathering information, sourcing images and writing stories that bring impact to life.
  • Supporting events, launches and expos by capturing stories, photographs and video content where required.
  • Managing the organisation's central information email inbox, responding to and directing enquiries from entrepreneurs, stakeholders and prospective clients, monitoring campaign responses, newsletter enquiries and lead-generation communications, and ensuring timely, professional follow-up.
  • Acting as the primary liaison with Raizcorp's appointed Public Relations agency, coordinating media opportunities, press releases, approvals, campaign activities, interview requests and all related communications to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Liaising with PR, communications, digital, print and branding suppliers to keep projects moving and deadlines on track.
  • Managing external freelance writers by preparing content briefs, coordinating assignments, reviewing and editing submissions, providing feedback, monitoring deadlines and ensuring all content meets Raizcorp's editorial and brand standards.
  • Tracking content progress, reporting on communication activity and helping to analyse the effectiveness of external communications.
  • Keeping content, reports, press clippings and documentation organised, filed and easy to access.

You are proactive, organised and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.

You are confident coordinating multiple external service providers and contributors while maintaining quality, consistency and deadlines.
