About the Position
Cultura Fresh is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our team in Klapmuts. The successful candidate will ensure the facility operates within the regulatory frameworks and standards required for food safety, quality, and legal compliance, while meeting all customer requirements. This role is also the custodian of Health and Safety compliance in line with the OHSACT, and works closely with the Compliance Team Leader to drive a strong compliance culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact between customers and Cultura Fresh.
- Oversee compliance with GLOBALG.A.P., FSSC 22000, SEDEX and SMETA.
- Establish, implement and maintain a Health and Safety management system aligned with the OHSACT.
- Liaise with certification bodies and lead external and internal audits.
- Ensure corrective actions are completed, verified and effective.
- Manage budgets across all compliance systems.
- Report monthly to Top Management on compliance status, complaints and corrective actions.
- Champion food safety and quality culture throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a compliance, quality or food safety role, ideally in food production or agriculture.
- Working knowledge of FSSC 22000, GLOBALG.A.P., SEDEX and/or SMETA.
- Understanding of OHSACT and experience implementing Health and Safety systems.
- Strong audit, record-keeping and communication skills.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook).
Advantageous
- Qualification in Food Safety, Quality Management or Health & Safety.
- Lead auditor training (FSSC 22000, SMETA or similar).
- Experience in a produce or hydroponic farming environment.
Reporting Line
This position reports directly to the CEO.
