Compliance Supervisor

Introduction

An exacting opportunity exists for a Compliance Supervisor position. This position will report to the Responsible Pharmacist. The role of a Pharmacy Wholesaler Compliance Supervisor involves ensuring that all activities of the company comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Any non-compliance identified should be brought to the attention of the Responsible Pharmacist.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

Compliance:

• Reviewing employee work to ensure compliance with legal standards and in-house policies.
• Improvement suggestions for current company policies and responding to policy violations.
• Conducting regular audits to identify possible areas of non-compliance and potential vulnerabilities.
• Taking corrective actions and developing contingency plans to address potential compliance issues.
• Providing training and guidance to all employees about compliance requirements.
• Managing and administering regulatory documentation and being the point of contact for regulatory bodies.
• Facilitating inspections and liaising with regulators on compliance matters.
• Assist with keeping track of NCR’s to be completed and handed over.
• Identify risk areas and report to the relevant departments as required
• Perform other related duties as directed.
• Request and assist with cycle counts on identified inventory items for wholesale.
• Communicate stock file changes required to stock file maintenance team as required.
• Liaise with and assist both warehouse managers with the destruction of medication process.
• Participate in annual stock take and ad-hoc cycle counts.

Customer Service:

• Maintain good collaboration with colleagues and management (internal customers)
• Perform root cause investigations and open the necessary CAPAs (Corrective Action, Preventative Action).
• Identify and escalate improvement areas through relevant channels.

Reporting:

• Operational reporting regarding project in progress and ones still to be completed.
• Timeous and accurate reporting within agreed timelines.
• Report on corrective actions taken as a result of identified deviations and service level failures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

• Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant

Experience:

• 2-3 years’ experience within a pharmaceutical wholesaler.
• Basic pharmaceutical product knowledge
• Basic Computer skills

Ideal:

• Intermediate MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint

Licensing & Accreditation:

• Needs to be registered with SAPC
