Concierge / Security Guard
Location: Cape Town CBD
We are looking for a professional, reliable, and customer-focused individual who is committed to providing exceptional service while maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents, visitors, contractors, and staff.
The ideal candidate will be well-presented, approachable, and capable of handling security responsibilities with professionalism and discretion.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Computer literate
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Previous experience in a concierge, security, or customer service role
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence
- Honest, trustworthy, and reliable
- Good conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and report accurately to management
- Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance record
- Sober habits
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Reliable and contactable at all times
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience
- First Aid Level 1 Certificate
- Fire Fighting Level 1 Certificate
- CCTV and surveillance system experience
- Strong face-to-face communication skills
- Minimum of 12 months' experience in a similar role
- Ability to speak an additional language
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional concierge service to residents and visitors.
- Monitor access to the building and control entry and exit.
- Ensure the safety and security of residents, visitors, contractors, and property.
- Patrol the premises and report any security or maintenance concerns.
- Operate CCTV and other security systems where applicable.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and resident enquiries.
- Maintain accurate occurrence logs, incident reports, and handover notes.
- Liaise professionally with residents, contractors, emergency services, and management.
- Deliver excellent customer service while enforcing building rules and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and secure environment at all times.
