We are seeking a qualified, goal-driven and self-motivated Confirmations Clerk to join our Confirmations team.
Purpose of the role
The Confirmations Clerk secures, checks, and keeps accurate treatment authorisations and confirmations from medical schemes, the Compensation Fund (WCA), SANDF, State Hospitals, and other funders. This ensures patients get approved dialysis treatment and that services qualify for reimbursement, helping protect the organisation’s revenue.
The Confirmations Clerk works closely with dialysis units, Billing, Credit Control, medical schemes, and other stakeholders. They ensure patient admissions, authorisations, confirmations, and documents are handled accurately and on time, in accordance with company policies, contracts, and legal standards. This helps protect revenue by reducing claim rejections, lowering bad-debt risk, maintaining accurate patient information, and supporting smooth care coordination during the patient funding process. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Administration or a related field will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in healthcare administration, medical aid authorisations or patient funding.
- Experience working with medical schemes, healthcare funding or hospital administration.
- Experience using healthcare information systems such as RMS or similar patient administration systems.
- Experience with ICD-10 coding and patient admissions will be advantageous.

Working conditions
- Office-based role within the Billing Department at National Renal Care Head Office.
- Frequent interaction with internal departments and stakeholders
- High-volume transactional environment requiring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Occasional overtime during month-end, financial year-end, audits, or business-critical reporting periods.
