Job description

Purpose of the role

Support the two workstream leads with research, document review, data analysis, interviews, workshop facilitation support and drafting across the diagnostic, design and reporting phases. One analyst supports the risk and resilience workstream and one supports the SHEQ and ESG workstream.

Key responsibilities

Collect and review policies, frameworks, risk registers, incident data, audit reports and Board/EXCO reports, and maintain the document register.
Prepare interview guides and surveys, take structured notes, and analyse maturity-assessment and culture-survey results.
Build analysis models: risk and control mapping, combined assurance heat maps, incident and lagging/leading indicator trends, and benchmarking comparisons.
Draft sections of the diagnostic, operating model, process redesign and final reports, and prepare workshop and steering committee packs.
Support the data specialist with dashboard data preparation and quality checks.
Maintain action and issue logs, and support quality review and version control.

Deliverables: Analytical and drafting support across all deliverables, working papers and meeting packs.

Minimum requirements (must meet)

Degree in commerce, risk management, environmental science, safety management or engineering.
At least 3 years' experience in risk, SHEQ, ESG, internal audit or management consulting.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; good report-writing skills.
South African citizen or permanent resident, available for the full period.

Preferred requirements (strongly advantageous)

Honours degree in risk management, internal audit, environmental or safety management.
IRMSA associate (RMA) or CIA/CRMA (risk analyst); SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or ISO 45001/14001 internal auditor (SHEQ analyst).
4–7 years, ideally including Big Four, electricity utility or state-owned company work.
Power BI or other data visualisation skills.
One or two reference letters for comparable assignments.

Personal attributes

Structured and evidence-based; clear communicator with executives and operational teams; able to deliver to tight deadlines within a multidisciplinary team; discreet with confidential information.

Pay: From R10 400,00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Pretoria, Gauteng
