Job Description We are looking for a curious mind – an individual who finds opportunities in the hidden business challenges that our clients need us to solve. We require an instructional designer with expertise in adult learning theory and the design of accessible learning interventions that leverage technology and engage students through a variety of instructional strategies. Instructional designers are experienced in developing and delivering storyboards for learning assets (such as micro-learning, videos, gamified learning, assessment-based training, etc.), as well as in implementing robust evaluation plans designed to assess knowledge retention and application.
In addition, we require this role to have experience in the functional development of interactive learning through the use of development software, specifically Articulate Storyline. This includes the development of learning assets in line with the storyboard or wireframe, bringing together the training and development plan, graphics, text, and multimedia into a visually appealing and engaging lesson.
Responsibilities: Instructional Design:
- Organize complex information to clearly convey information to learners.
- Recommend learning solutions and learning modalities based on analysis of learning goals, organizational and technological constraints, and budget and schedule considerations.
- Develop conceptual documents and other documentation to support learning solutions.
- Develop innovative formative and summative evaluation tools.
- Develop learning solution documentation (e.g., storyboards, job aids, design plan documents);
- Consult with stakeholders to gather requirements and document concepts, processes, work tasks, and related subject matter.
- Draft scripts, narration, text and other content for learning solutions.
- Develop scenario driven learning experiences.
- Develop complex simulations or games.
- Develop interactive techniques to increase engagement.
- Incorporate media components (e.g., videos, images, animations or interactive elements) into learning products
Content Developer:
- Use eLearning software to create interactive modules informed by design documents, storyboards, scripts, graphic and multimedia assets, narration, and style guides.
- Using eLearning software such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise and iSpring to create basic to custom learning modules with branching pathways, quizzes, and activities.
- Understand the types of learning experiences that can be created using the available development tools.
- Provide regular updates to your project lead regarding progress on required duties and the status of any projects.
- Manage strict deadlines whilst ensuring a high-end user experience.
- Explore the use of new technologies, apply these technologies where applicable and assist with technical solutions for e-learning modules.
- Be innovative and creative.
- Media skills to be advantageous (e.g. Adobe Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing and developing blended learning solutions, and utilizing structured learning frameworks/approaches such as ADDIE
- Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing eLearning Software like Articulate Storyline 360 and Articulate Rise (knowledge of iSpring is advantageous)
- Track record of successful training development of complex subject matter in global environment to diverse audiences using multiple delivery methods (e.g., eLearning, virtual-instructor led)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with SCORM standards
- A completed recognised bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, computer science, or other related subjects
