Contract Specialist

Purpose:-

To administer bids and manage procurement contracts in the National Regulator of Compulsory Specifications. This includes the provision of support to all

departments in relation to bids and contracts and SLA’s, and related risk management. To ensure compliance with the PFMA, Treasury

Regulations, procurement regulations and other applicable legislation.

• Preparation of and vetting of all service provider contracts

• Maintained contracts register
• Reported contracts deviations
• Contract advice and compliance
• Corporate Governance
• Bid Administration
• People Management
• Contract negotiations

Requirements/ Experience: -

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, Logistics Management, Public Management, Procurement,
• Finance, Auditing, Law or relevant qualification
• At least 5 years’ experience in contract management, 2 years of which must be in bid administration, preferably within the public entity or related environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

In-depth knowledge of basic conditions of contracts; In-depth knowledge of contract management principles; In-depth knowledge of negotiations with service providers; In-depth knowledge of SLA preparations; In-depth knowledge of contract monitoring and governance; In-depth knowledge of bid administrative processes; Advanced Excel; Exposure to finance will be an added advantage
