Contracts Administrator | Cape Town Sarens is the global leader and reference in crane rental services, heavy lifting, and engineered transport. With operations in more than 60 countries, we deliver innovative lifting and transport solutions across the construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, mining, and industrial sectors. We are currently seeking a highly organised and commercially astute Contracts Administrator to join our team and support the successful delivery of construction, heavy lifting, and renewable energy projects.
PROFILE As Contracts Administrator, you will support the Head of Department, Project Managers, and the Legal & Contract Management team by ensuring the effective administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Contract Administration
- Administer and maintain project contracts and related documentation.
- Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, and critical deadlines.
- Track guarantees, insurances, contractual notices, and project deliverables.
- Support contract close-out and project completion activities.
- Contractual Communications
- Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and formal communications.
- Maintain contract correspondence registers and audit trails.
- Ensure contractual communications are issued within required timeframes.
- Assist project teams in identifying events requiring contractual notification.
- Claims and Variations Management
- Support the administration of extensions of time (EOTs), claims, variations, change orders, and compensation events.
- Maintain claims and variation registers.
- Compile supporting records and monitor progress through to resolution and close-out.
- Commercial Administration
- Assist with progress payment applications and payment certificates.
- Track approved claims, variations, and payment milestones.
- Liaise with Finance regarding payment provisions and receivables.
- Maintain commercial records and reporting information.
- Risk, Reporting and Project Support
- Maintain commercial, contractual, risk, variation, and correspondence registers.
- Support the identification and escalation of contractual and commercial risks.
- Participate in project meetings and support audits, reviews, and project close-out activities.
What You'll Need Relevant tertiary qualification in:
- Construction Management
- Commercial Management
- Business Administration
- Law
- Contract Management
- Quantity Surveying
- Engineering
- Or a related field
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in contract administration, commercial administration, or project controls.
- Experience within construction, heavy lifting, infrastructure, energy, or renewable energy projects will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, GCC, or similar contract frameworks will be highly beneficial.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
