Control Room Operator- Reliever

VACANCY: CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR RELIEVER

Fixed-Term Contract: Approximately 3–4 Months

Purpose of the Role

The Control Room Operator Reliever will provide temporary operational relief within the Control Room. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuous monitoring, coordination, and communication to support the effective deployment of guarding personnel, incident response, and operational compliance.

The position forms a critical link between security personnel, management, clients, and emergency services.

Minimum RequirementsQualifications and Certifications

• PSIRA registered with Grade B or Grade A – mandatory.
• Matric / Grade 12.
• CCTV or Control Room training certificate will be advantageous.

Experience

• At least 1–2 years’ previous Control Room experience.
• Experience within a guarding or security environment is essential.
• Experience in incident reporting, dispatching, and the deployment of security personnel.

Technical Skills

• Computer literate, with fast and accurate typing skills.
• Able to use radios, CCTV platforms, Control Room systems, and reporting tools.
• Able to multitask effectively in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.

Behavioural Competencies

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High levels of discipline, professionalism, and integrity.
• Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Able to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Willing and able to work shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and public holidays.
• Reliable and available to provide relief according to operational requirements.

Contract and Remuneration

• Fixed-term reliever position for approximately 3–4 months.
• Remuneration will be aligned with the applicable PSIRA prescribed rates.
