Job description
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Control Room Operator to join our operations team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and is experienced in vehicle tracking, CCTV monitoring, and transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Ndola Control Room to monitor all vehicles dispatched from various sites.
- Update and maintain vehicle turnaround reports for:
- Northbound movements
- Southbound movements
- South African corridor operations
- Identify and report vehicles that are behind schedule to the Operations team.
- Monitor security escort groups and ensure all updates are accurate and cross-referenced with vehicle tracking records.
- Monitor CCTV systems across all BHL sites, including Reolink camera systems.
- Ensure security guards report for duty at all designated BHL sites.
- Report discrepancies, incidents, and any operational anomalies promptly.
- Manage access control at the BHL Meyerton site.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Control Room Supervisor or Management.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Previous experience in a vehicle tracking or control room environment (advantageous).
- Broad knowledge of cross-border transport and logistics operations.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate with the ability to capture and update information accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Able to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays if required.
