Job description
Job Function:
To coordinate and manage the procurement of transport services through approved subcontractors and transport partners, ensuring the on-time and in-full delivery of customer loads while achieving cost, service, compliance, and operational objectives in line with company standards and procedures.
Key performance areas:
- Source and secure suitable transport capacity to meet customer requirements.
- Negotiate transport rates and service agreements with approved transport providers.
- Allocate loads to subcontractors in accordance with operational requirements and service level agreements.
- Monitor load execution and proactively manage any service delivery risks or delays.
- Communicate effectively with customers, transport providers, and internal stakeholders regarding load status and exceptions.
- Ensure all transport movements are executed in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and legislative regulations.
- Maintain accurate transport documentation and system updates.
- Monitor subcontractor performance against agreed KPIs and service standards.
Qualifications required:
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or related field (advantageous).
Skills and experience required:
- 3–5 years’ experience in transport operations, transport brokerage, logistics coordination, or fleet management.
- Experience negotiating transport rates and managing subcontractors.
- Sound understanding of transport legislation, route planning, and logistics operations.
