Job Purpose To ensure continuous operations by controlling pallets as required for stock movement from inbound to outbound in line with company standards and requirements (Premier Way).
Key Responsibilities
- To support cost effective and continuous operations and asset management through pallet control. This requires:
- Documenting movement of pallets
- Capturing pallet movements on CHEP system
- Issuing and returning pallets
- Maintaining buffer as required for packing
- Recovering outstanding pallets
- Download and check CHEP reports
- Resolving queries and disputes with customers
- Physical monthly stock take
- To ensure continuous improvement of the pallet control process by optimizing recovery of pallets and preventing over-issue and under-returns.
- To ensure compliance and adherence to the requirements of Premier Food Safety and Health and Safety standards by inspecting and reporting non-conforming pallets to the warehouse manager to be cleaned and/ or replaced.
- Ensure high-performance warehouse team by participating in the warehouse manager Invocom and providing ideas on how to improve processes.
- Promote good customer services by providing sales team with guidance on where to collect outstanding pallets and arrange collection with the relevant customer.
- Perform adhoc administrative / clerical support services to the Warehouse manager or team.
Experience And Qualifications
- 3–5 years' experience in CHEP Pallet controller (essential).
- 1-2 years Clerical experience. (Desirable)
- Matric with mathematics
- CHEP online system training Intermediate (Desirable)
- MS Office License

- Pallet Control Principles (Basic)
- Food safety and Health Safety requirements Continuous improvement processes relating to pallet control (Desirable)
- Continuous improvement processes (Desirable)
- Basic understanding of the Milling Value chain (Desirable)
