The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals for students, staff, and visitors while maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards. Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu specifications. Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to a high standard. Assist with menu planning and daily food production requirements. Monitor food quality, portion control, and waste management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment. Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times. Receive, store, and rotate stock according to FIFO principles. Assist with stock control and inventory management. Support special events, functions, and catering requirements on campus. Work collaboratively with the wider catering team to ensure efficient service delivery.### Skills and Competencies
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and portion standards. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.### Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant food preparation or culinary qualification
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook in a high-volume catering, hospitality, educational, healthcare, or commercial environment.
