Coordinator (Inbound Logistics)

Job Advert Summary

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Coordinator (Inbound Logistics) to join our Logistics team based in Tarlton. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling all inbound logistics activities to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective movement of raw materials from production sites to the packhouse.

This role is responsible for transport planning, fleet utilisation, driver scheduling, maintenance coordination, RTMS compliance, diesel management, bin logistics, reporting and labour supervision to ensure uninterrupted production and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience in logistics or fleet operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 3–5 years' experience in logistics operations, fleet coordination or a similar environment
• Experience supervising drivers and coordinating vehicle maintenance
• Agricultural or warehouse logistics experience will be advantageous
• A Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain or Transport Management will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily inbound transport activities to ensure the timely collection and delivery of raw materials to the packhouse.
• Schedule vehicles and drivers, optimise transport routes, and maximise fleet utilisation.
• Monitor daily transport operations and communicate with drivers to ensure efficient execution of transport plans.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance, vehicle servicing, inspections and breakdowns to maximise vehicle availability.
• Ensure compliance with RTMS, SHEQ and all transport-related legislative requirements.
• Monitor diesel consumption, vehicle performance and driver efficiency, investigating and reporting any anomalies.
• Coordinate bin availability, movement, reconciliation, repairs and maintenance to support continuous production.
• Maintain accurate logistics documentation, including job cards, proof of delivery (PODs), purchase orders, quotations, invoices and fleet records.
• Prepare and analyse operational reports and dashboards, including fleet utilisation, diesel consumption, maintenance, RTMS compliance and production support reports.
• Supervise drivers and the bin team, including attendance, shift planning, leave management, performance management and training coordination.
• Work closely with production, packhouse and other stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted operations and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.
