Most B2B video looks like the category and disappears. We make the launches and explainers for the products you can't film: security, identity, fraud, AI and data infrastructure. The kind of work sales actually sends and buying committees still remember months later.
Demand is up. We need a copywriter who can think before they write.
What we believe
Our clients' products can't be filmed. There's no gadget to shoot and no interface worth watching, so every brief starts with inventing the picture from scratch. Explaining a complicated product simply is the floor, the thing every studio in the category can do. What we're paid for is the idea nobody else would have made: a metaphor that carries the whole story, a quirk that makes it unmistakably ours, humour that's tone rather than jokes, craft you can feel in a single frame.
We build those ideas in mixed media: 2D and 3D, motion, live action, stock, AI, type, texture, sound, pushed into each other until the result belongs to no single discipline. Your ideas set all of that in motion. If your concept looks like the category, the category wins.
The job
Concepts first, scripts second. You'll work directly with our Creative Director to crack the central idea of a video: the metaphor, the quirk, the angle nobody else in the category has reached for. Then you'll help turn that idea into scripts for launch films, explainers, and cutdowns.
We'll start with a few paid projects to see how we work together. From there it's your call: stay project by project, or settle into a steady retainer of around 4 hours a day. The retainer means predictable income, predictable hours, and flexibility on when those hours happen. It's built to fit around a life, whether that's school runs, another practice, or the novel you're writing on the side. Either way you'll be on live client work from week one, and on our biggest portfolio projects once you've found your feet.
You're based in South Africa. That's a requirement, not a preference.
You
A conceptual thinker with the work to prove it. You've sold ideas, not just words: campaigns, films, or scripts where the central concept was yours. You can take a dense technical product and find the idea that makes it land. This is the whole job. Everything else can be taught.
Ideally you have shipped B2B work. You've written for products that live behind an interface, and you know the difference between explaining something and making someone care. However, if you are conceptually gifted we are happy if you have come from B2C.
Agency background. You've survived feedback rounds and still shipped work with a point of view.
Bonus: you write in your spare time. Fiction, screenwriting, sketch, whatever. If you can write action and dialogue, you can write the videos we make.
To be clear about fit: if your portfolio is SEO blog posts, social captions, or product descriptions, this isn't the role. We're hiring for ideas.

If we like what we see, you'll get a sample brief and an insight doc from us. You'll write three concepts against it. That's the whole interview: no panels, no personality tests, just the work.
