Copywriter

The Herbalist

Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (Hybrid/Remote)

The Herbalist is looking for a Copywriter to own every word this brand sells with — Meta and Google ad copy, website copy, and our entire email programme in Klaviyo, including building the automations behind it.

This is not a traditional "content writer" role.

We are looking for someone obsessed with:

• Words that convert
• Hooks and headlines
• Email flows and automation
• Split testing everything
• Reading the data on their own copy
• Direct-response fundamentals

This is an analytical writing job: you'll always know exactly which words are converting, and you'll always be running a test.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Writing Google & Meta ad copy
• Building, launching and optimising Klaviyo flows hands-on — welcome, abandoned checkout, post-purchase, winback etc.
• Running always-on split tests in Klaviyo — subject lines, hooks etc.
• Writing campaign emails for launches and promos
• Sharpening website and product-page copy for conversion
• Tracking which hooks, headlines and ad assets convert best, and reporting monthly on exactly which words are earning

Requirements

• 3+ years of direct-response copywriting for e-commerce/DTC brands
• Email marketing - flows and campaigns you built yourself, with revenue results to show
• Self-motivated, fast, and proactive

Bonus Points

• Supplements, wellness or fitness brand experience
• Google & Meta Ads experience
• Landing page or CRO copywriting
• SEO experience
• SMS marketing experience
