Cost Accountant

Macrotec | Ballito, KZN | R300k to R500k CTC

Macrotec designs and manufactures high-temperature process equipment (incinerators, cremators, air pollution control systems) for clients across Africa and the Middle East.

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to own our finance function, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

What you will do

You will manage Macrotec's costing framework: building and maintaining product cost structures, analysing bills of materials, tracking project costs against budgets, and reporting on margins by product line and project. Beyond costing, you will run month-end close, prepare management reports, handle reconciliations, and manage our relationship with external auditors and tax advisors.

This is not a back-office number-crunching role. You will work closely with our engineering and project teams to understand what drives costs and where value is created.

What we are looking for

• BCom in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, or related qualification
• Experience with product costing, BOMs, or manufacturing cost analysis (preferred)
• Familiarity with an ERP system (we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central)
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and communicate financial information clearly
