Cost Accountant

One of our clients, a major manufacturer and distributor of electrical automotive components, has an opening for a Cost Accountant .

Reporting to: Plant Controller

Job purpose:

To provide costing and financial support to the factory finance function by assisting with product costing, inventory control, cost reporting, ERP data maintenance and month-end activities, ensuring accurate financial information, effective internal controls and compliance with company policies and financial reporting requirements.

Minimum requirements:

• Must have a minimum of a BCom Accounting / Cost & Management Accounting (NQF6). Studying towards CIMA is preferred.
• Must have 3–7 years’ experience in a manufacturing or factory finance environment, proven experience in cost accounting, inventory valuation and variance analysis and experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (SAP).
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• IFRS knowledge, specifically IAS 2 (inventories).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
