Sylvania Metals invites experienced Cost Accountants to join its Eastern Operations based in Steelpoort/Burgersfort on a 7-month fixed-term contract. This role demands a qualified professional with a Degree in Finance or Cost & Management Accounting, adept in cost analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis within the mining sector. • Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Accounting as a subject.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Cost & Management Accounting.
• Postgraduate qualifications will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience in cost management and inventory control.
• Proven experience in spares inventory management and cost control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel between Eastern Operation Plants as required.
• Residency in close proximity to the Eastern Operation Plants is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage financial processing and reporting, including monthly close procedures and operational cost control.
• Develop, monitor, and report on operational cost budgets to support effective financial planning.
• Maintain and control the asset register to ensure accurate tracking of company assets.
• Oversee purchasing and pricing operations to optimize cost efficiency and procurement processes.
• Implement and manage the spare inventory system to ensure adequate stock levels and accurate stock valuation.
• Ensure effective stock management and maintain housekeeping standards within warehouses.
• Collaborate closely with operations management and staff to support financial and operational objectives.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members to enhance performance and professional development.
• Support plant management and the Financial Department with timely and accurate information and analysis.
