Counter Sales Representative

Job Description:

Duroplastic Technologies (Pty) Ltd is recruiting for a suitably skilled, knowledgeable and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our George Branch. The successful candidate should come from a strong sales background, with a proven track record in generating new sales, building customer relationships and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in, telephonic and account customers with enquiries and recommend the correct products.
• Generate accurate quotations and proactively follow up to convert quotations into sales.
• Identify new business opportunities, generate new leads and continuously build a strong sales pipeline.
• Achieve monthly new sales and revenue targets and monitor sales performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, including hardware stores and trade customers.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the entire sales process and ensure customers are satisfied with their purchases.
• Accurately capture and process customer orders, ensuring product specifications, quantities, pricing and delivery requirements are correct.
• Create sales orders and produce cutting slips for the factory where products require cutting or manufacturing.
• Process account customer orders and coordinate stock availability and delivery requirements.
• Ensure all orders are correctly processed, invoiced and cleared for payment prior to release, including confirmation of EFT payments where applicable.
• Monitor stock availability and ensure sufficient stock is available to service customer requirements.
• Liaise with Stores, Procurement, Production and other relevant departments regarding stock availability, manufacturing requirements and customer orders.
• Schedule and coordinate deliveries to distribution centres, hardware stores and customers.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure deliveries are dispatched within the agreed customer timeframe.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding order progress, stock availability, deliveries or potential delays.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products to maximise sales and customer value.
• Maintain accurate sales, customer, quotation and order records.
• Ensure all sales and administrative processes are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
• Adhere to all Company SOPs, policies and procedures.
• Take ownership of the customer order from initial enquiry through to successful delivery and completion.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Matric
• 5+ years sales experience in industrial building, material supply or similar industry
• Good all round product knowledge of plastic composites, awnings, roof sheets, resins, etc
• Good knowledge of measurements, meters, sqm, linear meters, etc
• Able to read architectural drawings.
• Organized
• Build and maintain good customer relationships.
• Fully computer literate

Ability to commute/relocate:

• George, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
