Lifting Equipment Inspector / Crane Technician

Superior Cranes & Services is a well-established and reputable crane company seeking an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspector / Crane Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate must be reliable, hardworking, and willing to travel to client sites across South Africa. This role requires flexibility, as emergency call-outs and breakdowns may occur outside of normal working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of lifting equipment and cranes.
• Conduct statutory inspections and load testing of lifting equipment.
• Inspect and maintain:
• Overhead Cranes
• Gantry Cranes
• Jib Cranes
• Mobile Cranes
• Manual Chain Blocks
• Lever Hoists
• Electric Chain Hoists
• Wire Rope Hoists
• Crane Controllers
• Chain Slings
• Steel Wire Rope Slings
• Shackles and other lifting tackle
• Attend emergency crane breakdowns and carry out fault finding and repairs.
• Complete inspection reports and certification accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with cranes and lifting equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of lifting tackle inspections.
• Experience with crane servicing, maintenance, inspections, and load testing.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home when required.
• Must be available for after-hours call-outs and emergency breakdowns.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Physically fit and able to work in industrial and mining environments.
• Valid driver's licence (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
