The Herbalist is looking for a Creative Strategist to own the thinking behind our paid ads — the angles we test, the hooks we lead with, and the briefs our in-house designer, video editor and copywriter produce every week.

This is not a traditional "creative director" role.

We are looking for someone obsessed with:

• Ad angles and hooks
• Why some ads scale and others die
• Consumer psychology
• Testing and iterating fast
• Turning data into better briefs
• Direct-response creative

We spend R1m+ per month on digital advertising. We want you to take over creative direction of our in-house team, and own the results.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own creative testing - angles, hooks, formats, audiences
• Writing clear, specific briefs for our designer, video editor and copywriter
• Reviewing ad performance weekly with our media buyer and iterating briefs on the data
• Owning the scoreboard for everything you brief - test win rate, hook rate, CTR
• Pushing creative output volume without sacrificing quality
• Keeping a creative library - every test logged, every learning kept
• Planning campaign creative for key moments, including Black Friday

Requirements

• 3+ years in performance creative for e-commerce/DTC brands
• A portfolio of ads you conceived that scaled — with the numbers to show it
• Experience directing designers, editors and UGC creators
• Strong communication and fast iteration

Bonus Points

• Health, wellness or supplements experience
• UGC creator network or briefing experience
• Media buying knowledge (Meta/Google)
