Creditors Controller

Job Summary

Responsible for managing a company's accounts payable function, ensuring that all supplier invoices are processed, recorded, and paid accurately and on time. This role ensures the organization maintains good relationships with its suppliers and complies with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Invoice Processing

• Receive and verify all supplier invoices
• Scanning and filing the invoices
• Ensure invoices are matched to delivery notes
• Resolve discrepancies or disputes with suppliers

2. Payments Management

• Schedule and prepare payment run
• Ensure payments are made on time and correctly recorded

3. Reconciliations

• Reconcile supplier statements to the creditor's ledger
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items

4. Reporting

• Prepare monthly accounts payable reports
• Monitor aged creditors and report on overdue account

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong Knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
• Computer literate especially with Excel and Word
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g Sage Accounting, QuickBooks, Embrace, Klipboard)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade12)
• Diploma degree or degree in Accounting qualification, or related field
• 2-3 years experience in an account payable

Education:

• High School (matric) (Preferred)

Experience:

• Creditors Controller: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Drivers license (Preferred)
