Purpose of the Role
The Customer Service Intern will support our Customer Service team by assisting with customer enquiries, service-related queries and administrative tasks while learning how to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
You'll gain practical exposure to communicating with customers across different channels, understanding customer concerns, resolving queries and working with internal teams to find solutions.
This internship is designed to help you develop your communication, customer service, problem-solving, system, and professional workplace skills while learning from experienced professionals.
What You'll Be Doing
Customer Support & Communication
- Assist with responding to customer enquiries professionally and timeously.
- Support customers across different communication channels, including telephone, email and other digital platforms.
- Listen to customer concerns and gather the relevant information needed to assist them.
- Provide accurate information about Frogfoot products, services and processes.
- Ensure customers are directed to the correct person or department when required.
- Communicate with empathy, professionalism and respect.
Customer Query & Problem-Solving Support
- Assist with investigating customer queries and service-related concerns.
- Learn how to identify possible solutions and escalate more complex issues to the relevant team.
- Follow up on assigned customer queries to ensure they are progressing towards resolution.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and outcomes.
- Learn how to handle customer complaints professionally and constructively.
Administration & Record-Keeping
- Capture and update customer information accurately on relevant systems.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, queries and resolutions.
- Assist with updating trackers and reports where required.
- Follow structured workflows and customer service processes.
- Ensure information is handled professionally and confidentially.
Team & Internal Support
- Work closely with Customer Service colleagues and other internal teams.
- Assist with escalating customer concerns to the appropriate department.
- Follow up on outstanding customer queries and information.
- Contribute to creating a positive and supportive team environment.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and ask for guidance when needed.
Learning & Development
- Learn about Frogfoot's products, services, and customer processes.
- Develop an understanding of customer service standards and best practices.
- Learn how customer service performance is measured and how positive customer experiences are created.
- Participate in training, coaching and development opportunities.
- Continuously develop your knowledge, skills and confidence.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is friendly, empathetic, confident and genuinely enjoys helping people.
You should:
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Have completed Grade 12 / Matric.
- Have a relevant 3-year Degree or Diploma in Customer Service, Business Administration, Communications, Contact Centre Operations or a related field; OR
- Have a relevant Higher Certificate or Occupational Qualification at NQF Level 5.
- Be currently unemployed.
- Not be enrolled in any MICT SETA or other SETA-funded programme.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be comfortable speaking to and assisting different types of people.
- Have a positive and customer-focused attitude.
- Be willing to learn new systems, products, and processes.
- Be able to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
- Be comfortable working as part of a team.
- Have good attention to detail and administrative skills.
- Be eager to learn and develop your career.
No previous formal customer service or call centre experience is required.
Computer Skills We Value
You don't need to be a technology expert — we're looking for someone who is comfortable using computers and digital communication tools and willing to learn new systems.
We value familiarity with:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel – basic data capturing and formatting
- Microsoft Outlook and email
- Microsoft Teams
