Cyber Security Specialist

We are looking for a technically strong professional to strengthen the security of network infrastructure, systems, and services within a telecoms environment.

You will work closely with Network Engineering, IT, and DevOps teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement security controls, investigate incidents, and protect critical infrastructure.

Please note: Previous experience within the telecommunications industry is a mandatory requirement.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or security engineering.

• Previous experience working within the telecommunications industry is essential.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network architecture.

• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM platforms, such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, or Splunk.

• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Nmap, or Burp Suite.

• Experience in security incident response and forensic investigations.

• Knowledge of security frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.

• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Understanding of cloud security fundamentals across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to identify and respond to potential threats.
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across network infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with relevant technical teams.
• Perform security reviews of network deployments, infrastructure architecture changes, and third-party integrations.
• Lead security incident investigations and maintain incident response procedures.
• Manage identity and access controls, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) and least-privilege policies.
• Support security audits and compliance initiatives aligned with applicable frameworks and standards.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices relevant to telecommunications networks.
• Collaborate with network engineers to embed security into infrastructure design and deployment.
• Contribute to internal security awareness initiatives.
