Cyber Security Systems Administrator

Role Purpose

The Cyber Security Systems Administrator administers and maintains Lesaka Technologies' cybersecurity platforms, ensuring security controls remain effective, properly monitored and audit ready. The role also acts as secondary administrator for the enterprise backup environment, providing cover during planned or unplanned absences and supporting overall operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Security Platform Administration

• Administer and maintain Netskope, SentinelOne, enterprise password management and privileged access management platforms.
• Configure and tune security tooling to ensure consistent, effective coverage across the estate.
• Maintain platform documentation, configuration standards and operating procedures.

Threat & Vulnerability Management

• Monitor endpoint security alerts and triage events for further investigation.
• Assist with threat investigations, escalating and supporting incident response activity as required.
• Track vulnerability remediation progress and follow up with system owners to close gaps.

Access & Privileged Access Management

• Perform regular privileged access reviews across key platforms.
• Support identity and access management processes, including onboarding, offboarding and access certification.
• Identify and report on access anomalies or policy violations.

Compliance & Audit Support

• Support SOX ITGC compliance activity and prepare accurate, complete audit evidence.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests relating to security controls.
• Assist in remediating audit findings and strengthening control documentation.

Backup Support & Continuity

• Provide backup administration cover during planned or unplanned absences of the Backup Systems Administrator.
• Maintain working knowledge of the Veeam backup environment sufficient to support daily monitoring and basic restore activity.
• Escalate backup-related issues appropriately when acting in a support capacity.

Automation & Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to automate routine operational and compliance processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operating procedures and controls.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Risk & Compliance and the wider Cyber Security team on improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• A relevant IT, Information Security or Computer Science diploma or degree, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SC-200, SC-300 or equivalent are advantageous.
• Vendor certifications relevant to endpoint security, SASE/SSE or privileged access management are advantageous.

Experience Required

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a cyber security, IT security operations or systems administration role.
• Practical experience administering endpoint protection, secure web/CASB or privileged access management platforms.
• Experience working in a regulated or highly controlled environment is advantageous, ideally financial services, fintech, banking or payments.
• Exposure to SOX, ITGC or similar control-based audit environments is advantageous.

Technical Competencies

• Working knowledge of Netskope or similar SSE/CASB technologies.
• Experience with endpoint detection and response tooling such as SentinelOne.
• Understanding of privileged access management and identity and access management principles.
• Familiarity with enterprise password management platforms.
• Basic understanding of backup and recovery concepts (Veeam or similar) sufficient to provide cover support.
• Understanding of vulnerability management and remediation tracking processes.
• Ability to gather, document and present audit evidence for security controls.
