D2C Ecommerce Growth Manager

THE ROLE

We're a UK-based, remotely-operated beauty brand selling direct-to-consumer, through B2B and via Amazon. This role is specifically to run and grow our Shopify D2C channel, working closely with the founders and alongside a small mix of existing specialists and freelancers.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Success in this role is measured by one thing above all: profitable growth of the D2C channel. The areas below are the levers for getting there, not a fixed set of boxes to tick.

This is a flexible, generalist role rather than a fixed list of duties. Our priority areas are:

• Overall ecommerce and growth strategy
• Meta content and creative direction
• Meta ads management
• SEO
• Google Ads
• Organic social channels
• Email marketing (Klaviyo or equivalent)

You won't be expected to be hands-on across all of these to the same depth. Some of these areas already have freelance support in place that you'd direct and hold accountable; others you'd own and execute directly. We'll shape the exact split around your strengths and where we most need cover, and this can evolve over time.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Deep, hands-on experience within a beauty ecommerce brand; having built or run your own is a strong plus.
• 3–5+ years in DTC ecommerce (Shopify or similar platforms), ideally with UK, US or EU consumer brands.
• A genuine generalist: comfortable being hands-on in some channels and directing freelancers/agencies in others.
• Confident with ecommerce analytics and basic P&L numeracy (CAC, contribution margin, ROAS).
• Strong with detailed analytics: able to spot trends in the data, test hypotheses and iterate toward consistent, repeatable results.
• Fluent, native-level English, able to work UK business hours with meaningful daily overlap.

ENGAGEMENT TERMS

• Location: South Africa, fully remote.
• Engagement type: outsourced contractor, invoiced monthly. Not a UK employee, no PAYE/NI obligation.
• Hours: flexible, from 3 days/week up to full-time depending on fit and available scope.

Pay: R2 200,00 - R3 500,00 per day
