Data & AI Course Instructor (Freelance)

Witle Academy is a Johannesburg-based data and AI education company. We're building out our e-learning platform with courses taught by people who've done the work in real industries, not just in theory.

As a freelance Course Instructor, you'll design and record a course in your area of expertise, drawing on real problems you've solved in your industry. You'll work with our team, who will help with course structure, editing and publishing, so you can focus on teaching what you know.Success in this role means learners finish your course able to apply data and AI skills the way they're actually used at work. That means clear explanations, practical examples and realistic case studies.This role is flexible and remote , and can be done alongside your current job.

Responsibilities

• Take on course jobs from the in-demand topics listed on our e-learning platform that match your industry and technical experience
• Record clear, well-paced video lessons that explain concepts and walk through practical demonstrations
• Build real-world case studies and examples, using the datasets Witle Academy provides
• Prepare supporting materials such as exercises, slides and project briefs so learners can practise alongside each lesson
• Submit your videos to the Witle Academy team for review, and make any changes we request
• Keep your courses up to date as tools and industry practices change

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, data science, data engineering or AI engineering
• Experience applying these skills in an industry such as finance and banking, auditing and risk, logistics and supply chain, HR, marketing, insurance, retail, healthcare, mining and energy, or telecommunications
• Strong working knowledge of relevant tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, cloud data platforms)
• Ability to explain technical concepts simply to beginners and intermediate learners
• Comfortable presenting on camera, with access to a decent microphone and webcam
• Teaching, mentoring, training or content creation experience is a plus, but not required
