Data Analyst

A Data Analyst is a professional responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights that guide organizational strategy and decision-making. They work across multiple data sources, using tools like Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, and other visualization platforms to analyze trends, identify patterns, and communicate findings in a clear, business-friendly manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Collection and Cleaning: Gather data from primary and secondary sources, remove duplicates, and ensure data quality.
• Data Analysis: Use statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
• Reporting and Visualization: Create dashboards, charts, and reports to present insights to management and stakeholders.
• Decision Support: Translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations that inform business strategies.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, finance, and IT, to understand data needs and support projects.
• Monitoring and Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assess the success of initiatives.
• Documentation: Maintain records of data processes and analysis methods for reproducibility and compliance.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros), SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Communication Skills: Present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with teams.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Problem-Solving: Apply data-driven approaches to solve business challenges.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Experience: Entry-level positions may require minimal experience, while senior roles often require 3–6 years of experience handling complex datasets and providing actionable insights.
• Certifications: Optional certifications in Data Analytics, SQL, Python, or Tableau can enhance employability.
