About the Role
We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our team, which builds and maintains the data pipelines and warehouses that power reporting across the company and for our clients. You'll work primarily with Azure Data Factory and SQL, keep our data infrastructure secure and running smoothly, and be a go-to resource for SQL and Power BI support. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys the technical side of data, pipelines, databases, and infrastructure, while still caring about how that data gets used downstream.
What You'll Do
- ETL Pipelines: Build and maintain data pipelines using Cloud platforms
- Data warehousing: Create, manage, and optimize data warehouses
- Database Administration: Monitor server health and performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Data Security: Handle data security measures to keep our systems and client data protected
- Write and optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability
- Build and maintain stored procedures, views, and functions used by teams across the company
- Data Analysis: Work with Power BI, including acting as the go-to team for troubleshooting Power BI issues
- Client Support: Maintain the tables and data we manage on behalf of our clients
- Documentation: Document data processes so they're clear and easy for others to follow
- Research & Innovation: Be proactive—research and trial new ideas (AI, tools, methods), apply the successful ones, and improve current data processes within the business
What We're Looking For
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (think Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar).
- 2-5 years of experience in a data analyst, data engineer, or related role
- Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (Azure Data Factory or similar ETL tools)
- Strong SQL skills, including query writing, optimization, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with Python is advantageous.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Experience with Power BI or similar data analytic tools (building reports and/or troubleshooting)
- Awareness of data security principles and practices
- Curious and analytical - you like tracing issues to their root cause and finding smarter ways to do things
- Ability to document processes clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to work independently and manage your time effectively, while also collaborating well with multiple teams
- Curious about AI and eager to use it.
