About the Role
We are looking for a detail‑driven, organised, and proactive Data Controller to join our Master Data team. If you enjoy working with data, solving problems, and supporting business teams in a fast‑paced retail environment, this role is for you. As a Data Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of our master data across articles, vendors and customers.
What You Will Do
- Capture, validate, and maintain article, vendor and customer master data
- Ensure all data meets governance standards, naming conventions, and system requirements
- Perform daily data cleansing, including backlog, variance, and duplicate resolution
- Apply master data tools
- Work with Regions, DCs, and Vendors to resolve data queries
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Meet SLAs, turnaround times, and data quality metrics
- Provide support to business teams on data‑related issues
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 1–3 years experience in retail master data, merchandising admin, procurement admin, or finance admin
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work under pressure with high data volumes
- Solid Excel skills a plus (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation)
Advantageous
- Experience with SAP and MDG
- Understanding of merchandising structures (articles, vendors, customers)
- Exposure to data governance or data quality frameworks
Qualifications
Matric (required) or relevant degree/diploma or certificate
