As a data scientist, you will leverage your expertise to design and implement scalable data science and machine learning solutions that transform enterprise data into clear financial advantages and optimised customer experiences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the design, development and deployment of scalable, production-grade ML models and data products within a cloud environment

Analyse model output and complex datasets to uncover insights and trends that inform business decisions and drive growth

Design and execute controlled experiments to test new strategies, providing statistically sound recommendations

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement models
-
Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders and decision makers in a clear and concise manner

Drive innovation by identifying new opportunities, data sources and methodologies for improved solutions

Guide, mentor and upskill junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence

Define and enforce best practices for code quality, version control, model validation and MLOps deployment pipelines

Honours in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or a highly quantitative field (Master’s degree advantageous)

Minimum of 5 years experience in data science, with at least 2 years in a dedicated senior role

Retail, Customer or Marketing experience is highly advantageous

Technical Skills:
-
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- A good understanding of code repositories, git and CI/CD
- Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, etc.)
- Experience with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Data Studio or Power BI)
- Experience with model productionisation and model tracking
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
