About the Role
As the Database and System Technical Administrator, you will intimately be involved in the setup, maintenance and administration of Servers and Databases as well as ancillary applications.
The right person will have a detail-oriented mindset and be passionate about problem solving alongside the technical proficiency required.
Key Responsibilities
- Server setup and maintenance (Linux and Windows)
- SQL Server Setups / Administration and Maintenance including backups and restores
- General Hardware setup, configuration and troubleshooting
- Monitor of daily reports, Job Queues and services
- Monitor & troubleshoot replication jobs, backup systems and servers
- Monitor performance of environments
- Form a valuable part of a highly technical team that is comprised of multiple disciplines all responsible for Operational IT Platforms and Systems (TechOPS)
Minimum Requirements:
- VKB work experience and familiarity with the VKB Group will be advantageous
- Experience in system administrations tasks such as the following:
- User and Groups/Role administration (Create new, update, rename, move, and delete)
- Assignment of access rights/permissions
- Providing technical support
- Coordination of systems changes / software builds into production
- High Level of Technical skill
- Good communication skills
- Experience liaising with third parties to ensure effective resolution of system issues
- Experience working with and supporting of Windows and Linux platforms
- Experience with SQL Script including DDL and DML.
