If you're passionate about keeping databases fast, secure and highly available, this could be your next opportunity. You'll work on large-scale production environments, helping improve the performance, reliability and resilience of critical database systems.

What You'll Do

Manage and optimise Percona MySQL and MongoDB databases

Improve database performance, availability and scalability

Support replication, clustering, sharding and high availability

Troubleshoot production database issues and perform root cause analysis

Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions

Monitor database health using Prometheus, Grafana and Percona Monitoring & Management (PMM)

Work closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams

What You'll Need

5+ years' experience as a Database Engineer, DBA or Database Reliability Engineer

Strong hands-on experience with Percona/MySQL

Commercial experience with MongoDB, including:

· Replica Sets

· Sharding

· Indexing

· Performance Tuning

Experience with:

· Linux/Unix

· Replication & Clustering

· High Availability

· Backup & Disaster Recovery

· Percona XtraBackup

Nice to Have

PostgreSQL

AWS, Azure or GCP

Bash or Python scripting

Application Question(s):

• A business-critical MySQL database has become significantly slower after a software deployment. Users are reporting timeouts, but the infrastructure team says the servers are healthy. Explain step by step your investigation from the moment you're alerted until the issue is resolved.
• As this his role involves working closely with DevOps, Infrastructure and Software Engineers. Can you give an example of a time you had to influence others to solve a database problem.

Experience:

• Percona/MySQL expert with strong MongoDB administration: 5 years (Required)
• Prometheus Grafana Percona Monitoring & Management: 5 years (Required)
• Database Engineer: 6 years (Required)
