Delivery Driver

PURPOSE

The Distribution Driver / Assistant is responsible for transporting goods from the Distribution Centre to various vida e caffe stores and managing order and stock according to FIFO principles.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

DC Driver:

• Assisting with loading and unloading goods from vehicles
• Transport goods to and from destinations in a timeous manner
• Use a navigation application to map the route determine the best route
• Deliver stock to stores on schedule and adhere to assigned routes
• Fulfil administrative needs i.e., office pickups
• Interact with clients professionally and courteously at all times
• Ensure that the vehicle is always fuelled and ready for use
• Keep mileage records and repair records up to date
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Prepare documents relating to deliveries

Distribution Centre Duties (off-road)

• Assist with loading and unloading stock.
• Participate in stock counts, inventory checks, and replenishment.
• Support picking, packing, and staging of orders for dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
• Follow health, safety, and food handling protocols.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure operational efficiency.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• Clean driving record
• Updated Public Driving Permit
• A valid driver’s license and at least one year driving experience as a Company / Delivery driver
• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications
• Planning and organisational skills to keep track of deliveries, stay on schedule and maintain stock levels
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues
• Strong time management ability for all administrative related duties, emails and stock orders
• Exceptional customer service skills and professionalism
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Be active and alert with a high level of vigilance and attention to detail
• Work as part of the delivery team in order to ensure that the items are complete, packed correctly, and delivered safely
