Demand Planning Manager | Road Freight

Job Context

To manage the processes, teams and resources accountable for forecasting, supply and planning activities that ensures optimal delivery and stock levels in a warehouse facility, contributing to operational effectiveness, client / customer satisfaction, reduced risk, profitability and compliance to relevant policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Performance Areas (KPA)

• Define standard operating procedures and implement and manage end to end processes.
• Monitor and report on progress against operational plans and make adjustments where required.
• Formulate a plan which includes milestones and priorities to deliver on operational objectives.
• Plan, manage and monitor initiatives to ensure customer service excellence.
• Compile demand plans for various principal clients.
• Ensure optimal stock levels in a distribution centre.
• Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance
• management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment.
• Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organisational values.
• Manage operational risk and risk mitigation initiatives.
• Manage, monitor and report on budget variances in order to maximise financial performance.

Qualifications Required

• Honours degree (NQF Level 8)

Skills and Experience Required

• Up to 8 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 5 years operational leadership or specialist experience
• Proficient people management and development knowledge and / or skill
• Proficient budgeting and cost management knowledge and / or skill
• Proficient labour relations procedures knowledge and / or skill
• Proficient business and operations management knowledge and / or skill
• Proficient client/customer liaison knowledge and / or skill
• Proficient inventory management knowledge and / or skill
• Proficient distribution knowledge and / or skill
