Deputy Sales Manager

A Deputy Sales Manager at KAPICO South Africa serves as a key operational link between high-level sales strategy and day-to-day revenue execution. Reporting typically to the Sales Manager, Branch Manager, or Deputy General Manager, this mid-to-senior management role focuses on team supervision, account growth, and regional market expansion across automotive, aftermarket, or commercial distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

• Oversees daily sales workflows, monitors pipeline progression, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensures branch or division revenue targets are consistently met.
• Supervises account executives, sales representatives, and counter staff; assists with performance evaluations, onboarding, and ongoing sales training.
• Manages relationships with key commercial clients, handles complex inquiries, resolves escalated customer issues, and identifies upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
• Coordinates closely with warehouse managers and logistics personnel to monitor stock availability, streamline order fulfillment, and align supply with sales demand.
• Evaluates regional market trends, tracks competitor activity, and compiles weekly/monthly sales reports for senior executive review.
• Steps in to assume full branch or department management responsibilities during the Sales or Branch Manager's absence.

Typical Job Requirements & Competencies

• 3 to 5+ years of proven mid-level sales or account management experience, preferably within automotive parts distribution, wholesale, or commercial supply chains.
• Strong team leadership, negotiation skills, client retention strategies, CRM system proficiency, and commercial acumen.
• Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Pay: R10 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
