Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Pr Eng Civil Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team across the mining, industrial, infrastructure, and water resource sectors. This role involves leading surface water,
geotechnical, and earthworks modeling projects, providing quality assurance, managing client relations, and mentoring junior technical staff.
Minimum Requirements
• Education: BSc Eng (Civil) or BEng (Civil)
• Registration: Pr Eng (Professional Engineer registration required)
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant multidisciplinary experience
Core Responsibilities
1. Hydrology & Water Management
• Catchment delineation, MAR/flow estimations, and flood peak calculations.
• GoldSim mine water balances and integrated water management systems (Mandatory).
• HEC-HMS hydrological modeling, floodline determination, and flood risk assessments.
2. Hydraulics & Infrastructure Design
• Hydraulic design of canals, diversion channels, spillways, culverts, and PCDs.
• 1D/2D water surface profile modeling, backwater analyses, and flood attenuation studies.
• Dam break analyses and hydraulic support for WULAs and EIAs.
3. Geotechnical Engineering
• Planning and supervising field/lab investigations (CPT, trial pits, boreholes).
• Seepage, settlement, bearing capacity, and groundwater interaction assessments.
• Slope stability analysis for tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, discard dumps, and dams.
• Design of foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and mine rehabilitation systems.
4. Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
• Lead projects from inception through design, technical review, and construction support.
• Direct client engagement, proposal input, risk management, and budget control.
• Mentor graduate engineers toward ECSA professional registration.

Domain Software Tools
Water / Hydrology GoldSim (Mandatory), HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D & 2D)
GIS & Drafting ArcGIS / QGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D (Preferred), Model Maker
Geotechnical GeoStudio (Slope/W, Seep/W), Rocscience (Slide/Slide2), or GEO5 will be an advantage
