Job description

We are seekin a Tech Developer for our client in Cape Town or Durban. Able to work on legacy systems - Somewhat a ball-of-mud type solution so needs someone who can pick up legacy tech and code worked on by a number of people over a number of years.

Requirements -

Grade 12
Diploma/Degree in IT or related certification
Microsoft ( c# back end services, SQL server, some legacy ASP.net) - most from 10+ years age
Deployments via Octopus plus some bespoke systems
Source control in Git / GitHub
Mostly integration systems with a user portal for input. Most changes in integration / back end though some simple changes to portal may be required.
Customer facing skills essential -- Customer engagement with technical stakeholders / product owned
Experience working with SQL server, Microsoft tech stack, C#, ASP.Net essential.
Performance analysis and tuning of applications very desirable.

Changes required

Defined changes to integration services to support migration - ignoring certain records for integration based on a flag.
Further changes required in user-interface to prevent editing of records flagged for migration.
Performance tuning of existing solution - current solution is in place for 6-12 months and may require performance tune in the back end / SQL layer
2-6 months to facilitate changes for migration away from old legacy systems we have provided over time to a new solution. The migration is being handled by a separate team. Changes required on our side are to implement a flagging system to support a staged migration approach (records will be migrated in batches and will need to be excluded from on-going processing).

Salary to be discussed.

Position - Contract 2-6 months can be work from home and onsite.
