Job description

We are looking for 3x Diesel Mechanics (based in Lydenburg & Rustenburg)

Overview

To maintain, service and repair all diesel-powered vehicles, equipment and machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operation, contributing to the overall performance and safety of the machines.

Qualifications and Experience

Matric/Grade 12
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (trade tested)
Minimum 5 years qualified experience on TMM machines
Driver's license
Willingness and ability to travel
Underground mining experience essential

Engine Repair and Overhaul
Routine Maintenance
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting
Fuel System Maintenance
Air and Exhaust System Maintenance
Transmission and Drivetrain
Hydraulic System Maintenance
Welding and Fabrication
Record Keeping
Safety Compliance
Customer Interaction
Training and Mentorship
Continuous Learning

General

Do Planned Maintenance (Services & Improvements) on GHH Mining Machines in a manner that promotes reliability with total cost saving to the Client
Arrange / request all spares required in a pro-active manner
Might also be required to help with Breakdown Maintenance on Surface on GHH Machines
Inspect the machines; take the required test measurements record findings on Inspection Report
Sign-off the Inspection Reports, get approval from Mine Supervisor & hand-in to Charge Hand
Attend and contribute to all required Safety Talks & Actions
Follow & adhere to all Mine Rules & Procedures
Participate in the Management of Change process & implementation
Identify Training needs of people on Site and communicate with Charge Hand and Contracts Manager
