Job description

Passenger Bus Transport company in Parow is looking to grow their service team. The ideal candidate would be qualified and come with relevant experience in the service, diagnostic and repairs environment with experience on buses being a requirement. Experience working on Mercedes Benz Sprinters & Vitos, OF1826 and 30 engines Iveco Daily, Toyota Quantum’s, Honda's, Hyundai, and MAN buses is preferred.

Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for service, repairs and maintenance of vehicles
Diagnose and repair automotive systems (brake, hydraulic, primary & advanced fuel ignition, electrical, computer systems etc)
Operating within a team environment
Good understanding of automobiles and keep updated with latest market trends and features
Inspections of vehicles
Good experience with diagnostics and fault finding
Inventory control and take responsibility for tools and equipment
Continuously learn and keep updated with new products and technologies
Maintain an organised working environment
Completion and administration of Job cards
Able to also work night shift
Able to work out of town for up to 2 weeks.
Working habits compliant with strict Occupational health and safety standards
Able to work, function and contribute in a team environment

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate
Relevant Mechanical qualification from a reputable organisation - Red Seal Certificate
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Automotive environment in a similar role
Experience in working with Mercedes-Benz Vehicles
Strong technical mechanical and diagnostic abilities
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport
Clear Criminal record is required

Must reside in Cape Town, Western Cape

Salary: Experience Related

Job Type: Full-time

Working Schedule: Shift work which includes night shift

Own transport required

Will work standby over certain weekends as per schedule rotation.
