Job description
Purpose
To diagnose, service and repair Light Motor Vehicles and Bakkies in Afrirent’s Auto fleet. This involves the provision of high-quality maintenance of vehicles to minimise downtime and / or reduce accident risks and thereby enable Afrirent to fulfil its contractual obligations to its clients, meet stakeholder expectations and increase profits / revenue in the Workshop.
Detailed Description
- Conducts fault finding and investigations to diagnose repairs and maintenance requirements on fleet vehicles
- Analyses causes of faults, requests quotes and submits for pre-approval
- Services and repairs vehicles accurately and with the highest levels of quality
- Responds to breakdowns and carries out onsite repairs when necessary
- Implements safety standard operating procedures at all times to minimise the risk of further incidents / accidents
- Attends to certificate of fitness (COF) defects on vehicles
- Conducts brake tests on completion of all brake overhauls
- Conducts strict inspection checklist procedures and maintains accurate paperwork and documentation
- Identifies and makes proactive recommendations for preventative maintenance of vehicles to prevent major breakdowns of vehicles
- Maintains optimum stock levels of parts, tools and equipment
- Escalates complex / unresolved repairs to the Workshop Manager
- Implements effective and hygienic housekeeping activities at all times
- Monitors and implements adherence to all safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures and requirements in the workshops
- Implements consistent safety protocols and procedures
Requirements
- N3 National Certificate (NQF Level 4) Diesel Mechanic / Artisan / Trade Test NON Negotiable
- 3 Years experience with LMVs, Bakkies and Mini buses
- Code 10 Driver’s Licence
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Own toolbox and relevant tools
Pay: From R18 500,00 per month
